Just bought one-and being a Fender Jazz Bass Player-along with many other Fenders, Music Man, Ibanez types --and playing in LA Clubs- I love this Corte. Weighs like a feather- keeps me practicing more as it is always 'ready' with out messing with an amp, cords or AC. Love the wide neck radius-gives you a nice burn while stretching. Keith Richards in his book: LIFE -stressed the use of an acoustic guitar. "Anybody can go wee-wha-wha on an electric solid body-but not so on an acoustic. It demands more of you-to get a good sound." Clapton on the Bb jazz version of "Layla" is another example of working the fingers to the instrument. Love the features, the price and the cutaway at the neck joint. Intelligently designed with nice features on the Fishman on board amp/tuner controls-and it looks good too. Main reason though-fun to play...which means more fun to practice and more practice in general. Watch TV - and strum, watch YouTube and work out some bass tutorials -any old time you feel like it.
The idea of picking up an acoustic bass appealed to me after hearing a couple of recordings and falling in love with the timbre and warmth of the acoustic bass sound. After playing this little gem in store for a period of time (thanks Bass Centre!) and trying get used to an acoustic under my fingers, I decided I would take the plunge and grab one. I am so glad I did. Whilst I have no reference of other ABGs, I can only praise this as something that a) punches out a great range of tones and the on-board EQ gives you all you ever need, and b) is VERY nice to play. I have recently put some nylon coated strings on as a bit of a trial, and this thing absolutely sings with lovely warm tones through my MarkBass amp and my band mates keep asking me to play songs on the ABG because they love it so much. You will struggle to find a nicer ABG for the money and this gem boxes well outside of its price range and it is a lot warmer than a kiss from your mother-in-law.
