Fender Deluxe Jazz Bass V, Kazuki Arai Edition, Rosewood Fingerboard, Black

Kazuki Arai, renowned as the bassist for both King Gnu and millennium parade, stands as a prominent figure within Japan's contemporary music landscape. His deep-rooted connection to music began in childhood, influenced by his mother's love for hip-hop and black music. It was during his junior high years that Kazuki first picked up the bass guitar and formed a band with close friends. However, it was a pivotal live jazz session experienced during his high school days that ignited his fascination with jazz and subsequently led him to immerse himself in the world of black music.

Inspired by luminaries such as Pino Palladino, Michel Ndegeocello, Marcus Miller, Ray Brown, and others, Kazuki Arai has earned acclaim for his masterful, melodious phrasing and profound grooves. His musical journey has been marked by diverse collaborations with a wide array of artists, all stemming from his involvement with King Gnu.

In 2021, the "Deluxe Jazz Bass® V Kazuki Arai Edition" made its debut, initially in limited production as Kazuki's inaugural signature bass. Now, this new model, featuring the cherished original neck shape and dinky-shaped body, has been made available as a regular product line with user-friendly specifications.

This bass boasts Ultra Noiseless™ Vintage Jazz Bass® pickups and a cutting-edge preamp for unparalleled performance. Available in a sleek Black finish adorned with a 1.2mm-thick gold anodized pickguard, it doesn't compromise on comfort or aesthetics. A 1.0mm thinner pickguard discreetly lies beneath the gold anodized surface, ensuring the same playability as a 3-ply pickguard while preserving the instrument's visual appeal.

Furthermore, the bass comes complete with a custom neck plate engraved with Kazuki's signature, catering to his devoted fanbase, and a plain neck plate that appeals to bass players of all stripes.

Perfect Bass

Store was really helpful and let me try a few basses before I came to my decision with this one. It’s smaller build body was a perfect choice and also the grunt that comes along with it was just too good to not pick this up.
