One of the cleanest and natural sounding bass amp I have heard. Bass is not too muddy when boosted, treble not too harsh to my ears. Mid and Mid Frequency is great. If you are looking for a coloured tone bass amp, this may not be your choice. With this bass amp, I can dial in the EQ that I need from different music genres. Slap tone is good as well, not as high- fi as Glock or EBS however to my ears, I am very happy to what tone I am hearing. At the end of the day, it all matters in our hand techniques and different approaches to our bass guitars. | TC electronic 410 cab| Yamaha TRB1005J with U.S Barts and Aguilar OBP3 bass preamp |
Amazing amount of power in such a compact amp. This thing will fit into even the smallest of pockets in your gig bag easy. A very simple design but incredible sound with amazing screaming mids. I think this amp is rated very conservatively at 350 watts because it sounds much louder and has plenty of headroom. With two cabs you can really unleash the power of this amp running it at 4ohms.
I was looking for a low power head that would serve me in small jazz gigs, and that would be small and light enough to be mistaken for my wife's Acoustic Image Clarus Guitar amp. The Tone Hammer 350 fitted the bill because it fitted the handbag. The fact that it comes with Aguilar's signature grunt to a certain extent, was a bonus! Like all of Aguilar's heads, this model comes with the "I AM ON AND READY" fluoro blue lights, mute button, and the upside-down-mounted XLR socket for DI - all quirks you get used to and actually start to miss on your other amps! For the price Bass Centre is selling these at, you can't beat this model for a small practice amp, teaching amp, or small gig amp.
