I own far too many instruments (just ask my wife!), so it follows that I have accumulated rather too many tuners, ranging from clip-ons through to various stomp pedals and a rackmount. This Peterson Strobostomp HD (of which I own two) is, quite simply, the best, if you’re prepared to spend the extra dollars; as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. Super-accurate, super-configurable, and great support (I had cause to chat with Peterson in the US about a config I needed, and they were more than helpful). If you just want a basic unit for home tuning, then this is probably overkill, but if (like me) you’re fussy about accuracy, and particularly if you use multiple instruments (I have solid and acoustic guitars, bass, mando, uke, etc.), then a Peterson just needs to be part of your gear. ….. One word of warning — if you dislike technology, be aware that this unit has so many options and tweaks available that it could drive you quietly crazy. If, on the other hand, you don’t mind reading the manual and jumping right in, you can create the box of your dreams. (Alternate/custom/sweetened tunings? Baritone guitar? Buzz Feiten? Pedal Steel? 7-string? 8-string? Violin? Harp? Sitar? A different colour display for each instrument? Why not?!? You name it, and this baby has got it!!!) ….. Pricing at Bass Centre was good, and delivery was fast, so no complaints from me. If I lost one of my Petersons, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another.

Love the big screen, built in buffer, detailed display and that it mutes automatically during power-up. Being able to change the colours to suit my mood or pedal colour choices is a bonus
